  • Legislation Update - Consumer Rights Act 2015

    You may be aware that there has recently been a change to the law in the UK. On the 1st October the Consumer Rights Act 2015 came into force. This replaces the Sale of Goods Act 1979 and also makes changes that affect suppliers of services from dry cleaners to builders and everyone in between.

    Our Council has launched its new Trusted Trader Scheme. Initially focusing on the home improvement sector, the initiative will be run by the Council’s Trading Standards Team. It’s hoped the scheme will increase consumer confidence, promote good practice within local businesses and help to protect people from doorstep crime.
